The Picklr Files for Bankruptcy | Waters Hits 202 | Crocs Win Brisbane
Good morning, pickleballers.
One of indoor pickleball's most recognisable franchise brands has entered Chapter 11. The Picklr's corporate filings raise questions about financing, property commitments and the economics behind rapid club expansion, even as the company seeks a route forward.
On court, Anna Leigh Waters reached 202 PPA titles in Chicago, Roscoe Bellamy won men's singles gold, and Australia's Northern Crocs celebrated an MLPA Premier championship in Brisbane. Three stories, three very different perspectives on the global game.
The Picklr files for Chapter 11
Picklr, Inc. and Picklr Clubs, Inc. have filed for Chapter 11 protection in Texas, bringing the finances of one of pickleball's best-known indoor club brands under scrutiny. The filings concern corporate entities, not an automatic bankruptcy of every independently owned franchise.
A proposed $4.5 million financing commitment offers a possible path through restructuring, but remains subject to court approval. Behind the headline are questions about debt, lease exposure, franchise costs and whether expansion can produce sustainable operating businesses.
Our detailed analysis examines what the filings mean for the company, its franchise network and the wider indoor pickleball sector.

Anna Leigh Waters arrived in Chicago on 199 career PPA titles and left with 202, claiming mixed doubles, women's doubles and singles gold to complete her 45th triple crown.
Roscoe Bellamy defeated top seed Chris Haworth 11–4, 11–5 for men's singles gold, while Federico Staksrud and Hayden Patriquin won men's doubles. Away from the finals, French qualifier Emilien Burnel and the European pairing of Anouar Braham and Bruno Faletto produced breakthrough semi-final runs.
The champions remained formidable, but the journey through the Chicago draws was far less predictable.
