What’s the Score?
The RTA Pickleball Tour has completely revamped its APC 2025 amateur event, introducing an engaging new team format designed to enhance competition. Scheduled for September 18 to September 22, 2025, the tournament offers amateurs the unique chance to compete right alongside Europe’s best pickleball players. Beyond the high-stakes competitive environment, the event provides significant new incentives, including a luxury prize of a two-night summer weekend getaway for three persons. The experience blends serious competition with high-end European mountain leisure, featuring professional clinics and unique dining options.
Hit it deeper!
The APC 2025 amateur event, managed by the RTA Pickleball Tour, is distinguishing itself not just through the level of play it encourages, but also through its structure and rewards. The move to a new and “fancy TEAM format” aims to draw enthusiastic amateur players who wish to measure their skills in the same atmosphere as the world-class “Arlberg Pickleball Championship”. The appeal of playing adjacent to the best athletes in Europe creates a motivating environment for participants. The prizes on offer have been upgraded, with the headline incentive being the two-night summer weekend escape.
In addition to the main tournament, the APC 2025 schedule includes valuable opportunities for players to hone their skills before the main competition begins. Pickleball Clinics will be led by professional players Karolina Owczarek and Felix Grunert. These sessions are strategically timed to take place just before the start of the primary world-class pickleball event, allowing participants to receive instruction and warm up for the demanding competition ahead.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the APC 2025 experience is the incorporation of luxury leisure time built directly into the schedule. Wednesday, which falls between the September 17 and September 23 event window, is designated as a free day. Amateurs and guests have the choice to partake in local mountain activities, such as going skiing. For those preferring a high-class, unique dining experience, the event offers a special candlelight dinner on top of the mountain. Guests enjoy this spectacular meal after taking the gondola up to 2,083 meters above sea level. This high-altitude dinner is described as a high-class dinner complete with live music and stunning views. More information about the specific “Pickle & Ski” options is available through corresponding links and social media channels. The comprehensive redesign of the amateur event—combining structured team competition, professional training, and unparalleled luxury relaxation—positions the APC 2025 as a premier destination on the RTA Pickleball Tour calendar.
The World Pickleball Verdict
The comprehensive overhaul of the APC 2025 amateur event shows a clear trend in European pickleball towards professionalising the amateur experience. By offering a sophisticated team format, substantial prizes like a weekend getaway, and embedding instructional clinics with professionals like Owczarek and Grunert, the RTA Pickleball Tour is elevating the standard for regional tournaments. Crucially, the inclusion of a high-altitude leisure day, which involves a candlelight dinner at 2,083m above sea level, demonstrates that organisers recognise that world-class events need to offer more than just court time; they must provide a unique, unforgettable cultural and social experience to sustain interest and attract international talent to the European circuit. This blend of high-level sport and luxury leisure is a blueprint for successful destination pickleball tournaments.
