Louis Laville reaches 100 career golds
Good morning, pickleballers.
Louis Laville has reached a number few players ever get close to. Victory alongside Ben Cawston at RTA2000 Farnham gave the Englishman his 100th career gold medal, another landmark in a career that has tracked the rise of elite European pickleball.
Across the Atlantic, Anna Leigh Waters moved to 199 career PPA titles but was stopped one short of 200 by Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin. Columbus, meanwhile, produced a double gold for Jack Munro on the APP Tour and another two-title weekend for Marcello Jardim in the AARP Champions division.

Lavelle's latest landmark came at RTA2000 Farnham, where he and Ben Cawston won the 5.0+ OPEN men's doubles title. The top seeds beat Ignasi de Rueda and Jorge Rodriguez Agudo 11-1, 11-4 in the upper final before completing the championship run.
The number matters because Laville's medal collection has been accumulated across the period in which European pickleball has moved from scattered high-level events towards a deeper competitive structure. Farnham itself showed that depth, with Emilia Richter winning women's singles as the No.5 seed and Claudia Caymel and Jorge Rodriguez Agudo taking mixed doubles from the same seeding position.
James Chaudry won men's singles, while Klara Thell-Lenntorp and Alma Thell Lenntorp completed the five OPEN champions by taking women's doubles.

Anna Leigh Waters arrived in Las Vegas needing two titles to reach 200 for her PPA career. Anna Bright helped her get halfway there as the pair beat Tyra Hurricane Black and Catherine Parenteau in three games for women's doubles gold.
Then Bright changed sides of the net. She and Hayden Patriquin beat Waters and Ben Johns 11-9, 11-7 in the mixed doubles final, leaving Waters on 199 and giving Bright a remarkable two-gold Sunday with two different partners.
That was not the day's only disruption. Hunter Johnson dismantled Johns 11-1, 11-3 for men's singles gold, while Christian Alshon and Andrei Daescu beat Gabriel Tardio and Johns 11-6, 11-8 in men's doubles. Johns reached three finals and left without a gold.

Jack Munro left Columbus with two titles, winning men's doubles alongside Richard Livornese Jr before partnering Jill Braverman to mixed doubles gold. For Munro and Livornese, the victory extended their run to six consecutive APP men's doubles titles.
There were breakthroughs elsewhere. Domenika Turkovic converted a season of US APP podium finishes into singles gold, while Tristan Dussault recovered from losing the opening game against Dusty Boyer to win the men's singles championship.
Shelby Bates and Christine Maddox completed the champions by beating Glauka Carvajal-Lane and Turkovic in three games for women's doubles gold.

Marcello Jardim was the defining player of the AARP Champions weekend in Columbus, winning men's doubles with Jaime Oncins before adding mixed doubles alongside World Pickleball Magazine columnist Lee Whitwell.
Youssef Bouzidi took men's singles and Karin Ptaszek-Kochis won women's singles, continuing strong runs from Overland Park. Eugenia Carolina Lopez Ascarate and Andrea Olson won the women's doubles title.
With Columbus the seventh of ten scheduled APP Tour stops featuring the Champions division in 2026, the results are beginning to build a clearer picture of the players carrying form across multiple events rather than simply collecting isolated medals.
