All four top seeds in the women’s singles draw advanced to the semifinals at the Capital Securities Beijing Open 2026 without dropping a game, while Australian Harrison Brown continued his breakthrough week by reaching the final four in the men’s event.

Order prevails in the women’s draw

The four highest-seeded women at the Capital Securities Beijing Open will contest Saturday’s semifinals after all progressed through the quarter-finals without dropping a game.

Top seed Chao Yi Wang moved into the last four with an 11-2, 11-4 victory over qualifier Seina Shima, ending the Japanese player’s run after she had earlier eliminated the seventh seed. Third seed Yufei Long was pushed harder by Pei-Chuan Kao but came through 11-7, 12-10 in the tightest women’s quarter-final of the day.

In the bottom half of the draw, second seed Sahra Dennehy continued her strong week with an 11-6, 11-4 win over sixth seed Aiko Yoshitomi. Fourth seed Lingwei Kong survived a testing opening game against eighth seed Mihae Kwon, eventually edging it 15-13 before pulling away 11-4 in the second.

With Wang and Dennehy also still alive in doubles competition, both remain on course for potential Triple Crown weekends.

Wang and Long meet again after Hangzhou

The results set up a direct repeat of one of the key matches from December’s Hangzhou Open, with Wang and Long meeting again after Wang won their previous semifinal 11-8, 11-7.

Long will have home support behind her in Beijing as she attempts to reverse that result, while Wang enters the match with a chance to keep her Triple Crown bid intact.

Dennehy and Kong, meanwhile, are set to meet for the first time on the PPA Tour Asia circuit. If Dennehy and Wang both advance, Sunday’s final would also revisit the Hangzhou championship match, which Dennehy won 11-7, 11-2.

Brown keeps the men’s draw open

No player has altered the shape of the men’s draw more than Harrison Brown.

The Australian followed his earlier upset of fourth seed Luc Pham by defeating seventh seed Nasa Hatakeyama 11-5, 13-11 to reach the semifinals.

Brown’s reward is a meeting with top seed Zane Ford, who has progressed steadily through the draw and remains the leading seed still standing.

Second seed Hien Truong and third seed Hong Kit Wong complete the final four in the bottom half of the draw.

What happens next

Saturday’s semifinals will revisit some of the most important matches from Hangzhou while giving Brown a chance to extend the strongest run of his tournament.

The Beijing Open is the fourth stop on the ten-event 2026 PPA Tour Asia calendar, with the semifinal session scheduled to begin at 9am local time in Beijing, according to the official PPA Tour Asia event report.
