A triple crown, five finals, and Tama rewriting the script

One player has already won everything. Two tournaments still have everything to decide.

This is the World Pickleball Report, brought to you by PKLBull.

No noise. Just what actually matters.

Selina Turulja leaves with everything.

Tweed Heads has already delivered its clearest story of the weekend.

Selina Turulja had won the women’s singles title. Then she added women’s doubles with Sarah Burr and mixed doubles with Joey Wild.

That is the triple crown: singles, doubles, mixed.

What matters: This was not just a strong weekend. It was the complete one.

Sacramento still hasn’t decided what it is.

The APP Sacramento finals are set across all five brackets, but no single story has taken full control.

Sofia Sewing has three routes to define the weekend. Ammar Wazir is alive in two. Megan Fudge and Richard Livornese remain dangerous late in doubles.

What matters: Sunday decides whether Sacramento belongs to one player, one pairing, or the field itself.

Atlanta now runs through Tama.

Tama Shimabukuro did not just reach his first PPA Tour final. He changed the feel of the tournament.

He beat Hunter Johnson to reach Championship Sunday, and now faces Chris Haworth in the men’s singles final. Across the rest of Atlanta, the familiar names remain in place, but the centre has shifted.

What matters: The established order is still there. Tama has made it answer him.

A new pathway is being built.

Theo Young joins the World Pickleball Podcast to explain how the first UK university pickleball event came together.

The event is more than a one-off. It points towards a student pathway the sport in Britain has not properly had before.

What matters: If university pickleball works, it gives younger players a cleaner route into competitive play.

Most paddles are priced like they are premium.

That does not mean they should be.

Good paddles. Dinky price. No bull.

One thing to watch

Tweed Heads has already chosen its story.

Sacramento and Atlanta still have to.

A triple crown is in the books. A five-bracket APP Sunday is still open. A 15-year-old has pushed himself into the centre of a PPA final.

One of these stories wins. The others disappear.
