The semi-finals are set. The pressure is real.

Sacramento is wide open, Atlanta has added controversy, and Tweed Heads showed how titles are actually decided.

This is the World Pickleball Report, brought to you by PKLBull.

No noise. Just what actually matters.

Sacramento didn’t break. It tightened.

The APP Sacramento Open has reached the semi-finals with all five brackets still live.

Ammar Wazir, Patrick Kawka, Dusty Boyer and Beasley are through in men’s singles. Sofia Sewing leads the women’s field after progressing without dropping a game.

Several quarter-finals went to three games. No bracket has separated cleanly.

What matters: This isn’t chaos. It’s pressure. Every semi-final is still genuinely open.

Atlanta has control. It also has a problem.

The Veolia Atlanta Championships move into the semi-finals with the top names still largely in place.

But the talking point is no longer just results.

Albie Huang publicly questioned multiple line calls in her match against Lea Jansen, with the clips spreading quickly and reigniting debate around player-officiated calls.

What matters: The matches are tightening. The scrutiny is increasing with them.

One title was taken. The other was earned.

At Tweed Heads, the men’s and women’s singles draws followed completely different paths.

Brian Tran controlled the men’s bracket from start to finish. Selina Turulja had to take control late to win hers.

What matters: At this level, it’s not just about taking control. It’s about when you can take it back.

Money is still shaping the top.

Pickleball Inc’s Apollo-backed investment into the PPA and MLP continues to define the top tier of the sport.

What matters: Control of the pro game is increasingly centralised.

That doesn’t mean they should be.

Good paddles. Dinky price. No bull.

One thing to watch

The semi-finals are no longer about getting through.

They are about proving control.

The margins are smaller. The consequences are bigger.
