As pickleball continues to grow globally, one San Diego-based sporting goods brand is using the sport to foster international relief and community resilience. Anywhere Pickleball LLC has officially launched its nationwide “Freedom Fighter” campaign, an ambitious initiative designed to deliver 1,000 pro-level paddles directly to Ukrainian veterans, adaptive athletes, and youth programs.

At the heart of this campaign is a direct-impact “Gift & Get” model. For every Freedom Fighter paddle activated in the United States, an identical high-performance paddle is manufactured and shipped to the Ukrainian Pickleball Federation (UPF) for local distribution. Supporters in the U.S. can even expand their participation to increase the number of paddles sent abroad while strengthening the game in their own home communities.

The paddle is aptly named “Freedom Fighter” to serve as a tribute to those defending their freedom and rebuilding their communities. Angus Wong, CEO of Anywhere Pickleball, captures the spirit of the initiative: “The Freedom Fighter campaign turns every paddle into a direct act of support. This is sport as resilience. Sport as recovery. Sport as global connection.”

On the ground in Ukraine, the UPF, led by Anna Glotova and Volodymyr Svirskyi, serves as the official partner distributing the 1,000 paddles. The gifted equipment plays a crucial role in physical rehabilitation, adaptive athletics, and youth recreation during the ongoing conflict. In multiple cities, pickleball is already being actively incorporated into initiatives that serve athletes with prosthetic limbs and veterans recovering from trauma.

The campaign is not just for individual players; it offers a unique avenue for companies, pickleball clubs, and community organisations to integrate social impact into their programming. By using the paddles for tournament prizes, member appreciation gifts, or employee wellness incentives, organisations can align their recreational activities with global recovery efforts and visibly support Ukraine’s rebuilding.

This initiative stems from a historic alliance formed last summer between Anywhere Pickleball and the UPF, marking the first partnership of its kind between a U.S. sporting brand and an Eastern European national federation. Early shipments have already started reaching communities across Ukraine, and the campaign aims to complete its 1,000-paddle objective within the first half of 2026.
