Lamb Stuns Frazier in Australia | Goins and DiMuzio Strike in Virginia

Good morning, pickleballers.

Two PPA tournaments have already produced results worth watching. In Brisbane, Liam Lamb has knocked sixth seed Dylan Frazier out of men's singles, while Hunter Johnson has begun his response to an early Chicago exit.

At Virginia Beach, John Lucian Goins and Victoria DiMuzio have beaten Matt Wright and Lucy Kovalova in mixed doubles. Today's Report looks at what those results mean for the draws ahead.

Lamb removes Frazier from the Australian singles draw

Liam Lamb has delivered the first major singles upset at the WALKER Australia Pickleball Cup, beating sixth seed Dylan Frazier 11–8, 11–4. His reward is a round-of-16 meeting with Grayson Goldin, who conceded just three points in his opening match.

Hunter Johnson has made a winning start after his Chicago disappointment, defeating Kyle Stoker 11–3, 11–8, while Christian Alshon beat Liam Jesperson 11–0, 11–0. The early results are giving regional challengers meaningful tests against established international names.

Goins and DiMuzio make their mark at Virginia Beach

John Lucian Goins and Victoria DiMuzio have opened their Virginia Beach mixed doubles campaign with an 11–1, 11–5 victory over Matt Wright and Lucy Kovalova, giving the event an immediate upset to build around.

Goins is also progressing in men's singles, while Chicago Cup champion Roscoe Bellamy arrives as the top men's singles seed and Kate Fahey leads the women's draw. Our report examines the opening results and the match-ups taking shape.
