Parts I and II serve as the foundational rules applicable to all forms of play, ensuring that a game in a community centre looks fundamentally the same as a pro match. Part III introduces specific modifications for sanctioned tournaments, providing the necessary structure for events where national and international ratings are on the line.
Crucially, the rulebook maintains a strong focus on inclusivity. Part IV is dedicated to rules for players with disabilities, modifying the standard regulations to ensure the sport remains accessible to all athletes.
