Hopefully, there will be some kind of preview on the website at some point today or tomorrow.

Before that though, here's the pickleball news from the last 24 hours.

Brazilian Pickleball Star Alleges Federation Boycott Over Independent League Participation

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – A significant controversy has emerged in Brazilian pickleball, with athlete Luca Cirenza publicly accusing the Brazilian Confederation, in conjunction with the Paulista Federation, of boycotting independent leagues like Liga Supremo. Cirenza, a former professional tennis player who transitioned to pickleball, revealed that he was approached by the Confederation for the national team to compete in the World Championship after a strong performance in Liga Supremo. However, he claims the offer came with a non-negotiable condition: he had to abandon Liga Supremo and similar entities. Cirenza refused to break his commitment to Liga Supremo, leading to his exclusion from national team plans. The situation escalated during a Liga Paulista event where Cirenza, after defeating two Confederation-affiliated athletes, faced questionable officiating and crowd interference in a match against João Pedro Agulha, whom the Confederation reportedly favours. Following a verbal altercation with a Confederation-linked spectator after his victory, Cirenza was disqualified from the tournament and given a "W.O." verdict, which he argues was procedurally incorrect and designed to conceal the performance of the Confederation's favoured players. Paulo Cantoli, CEO of Liga Supremo, criticised the Confederation for acting in self-interest and "undermining the only company that has so far proposed to invest and build an organised circuit" for athletes. A representative of the national entity explicitly stated in February that "The League does not fit us and does not serve us" and urged federation presidents to prohibit its presence. The Confederation has not yet responded to inquiries regarding restrictions on athlete participation in other leagues.
