The World Pickleball League (WPBL), India's premier franchise-based competition, successfully conducted its Season 2 Player Draft, resulting in highly diverse rosters featuring 56 players from 18 different countries across five continents. WPBL Season 2 is scheduled to deliver high-octane action from January 24, 2026, to February 8, 2026, at the Jio World Garden in Mumbai.

The extensive global participation in the draft validates the WPBL's growing international appeal. Gaurav Natekar, Founder and CEO of WPBL, noted that the league has rapidly evolved from a mere concept into a chosen destination for players worldwide. He pointed out that the scouting process this year was far more evolved, leading to an exciting "surge of young talent" that has brought a noticeable shift in ambition and energy to the league.
Natekar emphasised the WPBL's commitment to nurturing domestic talent, noting the increased participation from Indian players this season. He affirmed that the league provides a crucial "platform and pathway" for Indian athletes to showcase their skills on the highest stage. The seven participating franchises—Bengaluru Jawans, Pune United, Mumbai Pickle Power, Hyderabad Superstars, Chennai Super Champs, Dilli Dillwale, and Team Jaipur—have assembled carefully balanced squads.
The resulting Season 2 rosters highlight this blend of international and domestic talent:
- Chennai Super Champs notably drafted pickleball legend Simone Jardim, alongside players like Hoang Nam Ly and Carlota Trevino.
- Mumbai Pickle Power includes Brandon Lane and Sabrina Mendez.
- Dilli Dillwale features Max Manthou and Trang Huynh-McClain.
- Bengaluru Jawans roster includes Kat Stewart and Dusty Boyer.
