Matchday 10 of the World Pickleball League delivered high drama as Pune United kept their playoff hopes alive by the skin of their teeth. In a tie that went down to the wire, Pune defeated Mumbai Pickle Power 3-2. Simultaneously, the Bengaluru Jawans punched their ticket to the postseason with a gritty 3-2 victory over the Hyderabad Super Stars, clarifying the playoff picture as the regular season nears its climax.

Pune United’s victory was a masterclass in clutch performance. After trading blows in the opening matches, the tie hinged on key performances. Balint Bako was instrumental, winning his Men’s Singles match 16-12. However, the hero of the day was Mateusz Matysik. Named Player of the Tie, Matysik partnered with Vanshik Kapadia to win the decisive Men’s Doubles match 10-6, securing the critical third point for Pune.
In the other fixture, Bengaluru Jawans displayed their depth. Despite Hyderabad’s Seone Mendez winning her singles match, Bengaluru roared back. The final playoff spot is now a direct shootout: Pune United sits in 5th place with 10 match wins, just behind Hyderabad. To qualify, Pune must defeat the table-topping Chennai Super Champs on Matchday 11—a tall order for a team with no margin for error.
