PPL Luzon Open 2026 Nears Sell-Out as Registration Surges

What’s the Score?

The Philippines is bracing for one of its largest pickleball events to date, as the PPL Luzon Open 2026 reports a massive surge in registration weeks before the first serve. Scheduled to take place at The Dink Lab in Manila, the event boasts a prize pool exceeding ₱700,000 and has already seen total sell-outs in major divisions including Men’s Doubles Open and Men’s Doubles Intermediate. Powered by Polland Hopia and supported by tech partner Baseline, the tournament represents a new high-water mark for the sport's commercial viability in Southeast Asia.

As of mid-December 2025, organisers issued a "Slot Alert," warning players that capacity was reached for 24 pairs in the Men's Doubles Open and 40 pairs in the Men's Doubles Intermediate. While some spots remain in the "Moving Slots" categories—such as Men’s Singles Advance and Mixed Doubles Open—they are disappearing rapidly.

The event's scale is matched by its corporate backing. Polland Hopia has secured Platinum Sponsor status, branding the event as "Powered by Polland Hopia." Gold sponsors include Facolos Philippines, which has signed on as the Official Tournament Ball Partner, and Oasis Home. The tournament also features a robust list of silver and bronze sponsors, ranging from water brands to training centres.

Technological integration is also a key feature of this tournament. Baseline, serving as the official software partner, is providing end-to-end tournament solutions to manage the influx of players. "Together with PPL and its partners, we’re committed to elevating the game and growing the pickleball community," stated a Baseline representative.

The World Pickleball Verdict

The PPL Luzon Open 2026 is a case study in the rapid commercialisation of pickleball in Asia. The days of informal, community-run meetups are quickly being supplemented by high-stakes, sponsor-laden events that require professional software management and significant prize money.

The fact that "intermediate" divisions are selling out 40-team brackets suggests a massive base of recreational players who are eager to transition into competitive play. With brands like Polland Hopia and Facolos investing heavily, the Philippines is positioning itself as a central hub for the sport's economy in the region.
